Assault
• At 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, Jeffery Lee Byars Sr., 59, was arrested by Warrenton police on the 1790 block of Ensign Lane and charged with fourth-degree assault. He allegedly assaulted his girlfriend while driving a car with a young child inside.
• At 7:36 a.m. Wednesday, Ryan Joseph Dawson, 33, was arrested by Warrenton police on the 1450 block of Discovery Lane and charged with first-degree assault. He allegedly hit another man over the head with an ax handle.
